Downtime
Aoife stared at the bottle. She held it to the light and shook it slightly. The red liquid inside shifted yet remained still. She gave it back to Wren.
"So you drink this and it restores you? No matter what has happened?"
Wren wrinkled her nose as she spoke "Well, no it won't help if you get, like, exploded. Although that should be obvious since you can't drink it then."
"I'm pretty sure Revington would pour it on your blown to bits body and try." Aoife snickered at her own joke as the image of a very stately knight frantically pouring out bottle after bottle on bits of Wren filled her thoughts.
"Not funny. We only slept together once and it was mutually agreed upon that it wouldn't be a thing."
"It's already a thing. He's a big puppy dog and he only has eyes for you. He's gonna have quite a sonnet composed for you next time you party up."
Wren through her gloves at Aoife who dodged the left but not the right.
"My lady! I am injured and need to drink all the crimson juice you have available!"
Wren sighed and nodded towards the potion. She tossed it lazily back to Aoife.
"They are pretty cheap all things considered. A few gold pieces. I think the goblins brew them to be addictive though." This made a sour expression appear on Aoife's face since she'd begin to sip with hesitation.
"I'm not sure! I just think it's odd that they are something we carry dozens of at a time! I haven't even mentioned the blue ones yet!"
Aoife looked at Wren and raised her eyebrow, as platinum as the long hair that descended to her knees.
"And they do what? Raise you from the dead?" Aoife scoffed. Wren looked serious, "No that takes a spell that Jules could cast. These refill your mana!"
"I'm going to tell Jules that you called his prayers 'spells.' His mitre will fall off!"
"You will not and be careful, he fancies me so I could probably get him to ask his god to turn you into a toad!" Wren giggled as she began to ribbit with gusto.
"The blue ones are kind of minty", she began but Aoife interrupted her. "You're a dwarf you can't use magic!" "Can't hurt to try!"
The two began to laugh uproariously as their final night in the Inn carried on.
